Master of Divinity

The Master of Divinity course of study is a 93 unit program that may be completed in as little as three (3) years of full-time study (9 units per semester) including summer terms.

By the end of the program, the student will be able:

  1. To interpret the Scriptures from a historical, grammatical, and literal perspective using biblical languages (biblical studies major).
  2. To interpret the Scriptures from a historical, grammatical, and literal perspective being able to confront ancient and modern ideologies that threaten the doctrinal and moral welfare of the church (apologetics major).
  3. To serve the church with skill and faithfulness by accurately teaching biblical and theological studies to the church.
  4. To apply biblical content and theology as expressed in VIU’s doctrinal statement to teaching, preaching, discipleship, missions, apologetics, and evangelism.
